Recovery Begins With A Safe Medical Detox

Our medical detox programs in Asheville, North Carolina, and Knoxville, Tennessee, provide 24-hour safe and comfortable withdrawal management and medication-assisted treatment. On-site clinicians and detox specialists evaluate each client’s physical and medical needs to design custom withdrawal management plans that address acute and post-acute withdrawal symptoms. This is the perfect way to ensure clients are physically and mentally prepared for the rest of their treatment journey.

Will from Asheville Detox Center explains how the detox process works.

Our two medical detox programs at Asheville Detox Center and Knoxville Recovery Center are equipped with a combined total of 40 beds specifically reserved for the detox process. Both centers are unique in their own ways and offer different pathways to the next stages of treatment.

Asheville Detox Center is one of the only Licensed Residential Detox Facilities in Western NC. It provides a dedicated space for clients to focus on overcoming withdrawal symptoms. Once they finish, clients can transition to any local or out-of-state residential, PHP, or IOP programs. Learn more.

Knoxville Recovery Center provides on-site medical detox and residential treatment. Clients can enter detox and transition immediately into our residential wing without the need to relocate. Learn more.

What’s Included In Medical Detox at Our Centers

  • 24/7 Monitoring & Withdrawal Management: On-site clinicians, including doctors and nurse practitioners, provide 24/7 supervision and support to ensure safety and comfort during the entire drug and alcohol withdrawal process. Our approach delivers results without sacrificing the intimacy necessary to connect and help our clients during this essential recovery process.
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): Our licensed clinicians can provide FDA-approved medications to reduce withdrawal symptoms and manage cravings for physically dependent substances, such as alcohol, opioids (heroin, fentanyl), benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium), and methamphetamine. Clients can continue to receive MAT as they transition into inpatient rehab and incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and other healing approaches into their treatment plans.
  • Aftercare Preparation: Medical detox is only the first stage of addiction treatment. Before and during the detox process, our case managers create individualized aftercare plans for each client, preparing them for the next stage of treatment, whether it involves inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), or intensive outpatient treatment (IOP).

How Medical Detox At Our Centers Is Different

Knoxville Recovery Center and Asheville Detox center were founded by recovery community members who recognized the need for more personalized and comprehensive treatment programs. Since 2021, there have been over 4 million opioid prescriptions, almost 30,000 nonfatal overdoses, and over 3,000 fatal overdoses. This can be attributed to limited public healthcare resources and a severe lack of human connection and engagement at other treatment facilities. That’s what we’re aiming for.

All of our program placement and referrals are intentional and match clients with programs and groups that effectively meet their needs, never placing them in a program that doesn't suit them. Whether it’s a customized detox, inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, or aftercare plan, we want clients to feel heard, understood, and supported at all times.
